For the past fifteen years, every nesting season, hawkwatchers meet at the bench next to the Statue of Hans Christian Andersen at the Model Boat Pond. The season starts early in March when Pale Male and his lady begin mating on buildings along Fifth Avenue.  It usually ends with a party celebrating the fledge  of the young into Central Park.
